Pupils take part in Hockey sessions at the Polo Farm We aim to offer a broad range of experiences in Physical Education at St Christopher’s School, engaging pupils in team sports and individual sports. In the Early Years the emphasis is on gross and fine motor skills. As the children progress they will become increasingly involved in team sports such as Football, Tag Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Basketball aswell as individual disciplines such as Tennis and Swimming.

Various P.E. sessions are held within the school grounds on our synthetic playground surface. However, although the school has modest facilities on site, we make extensive use of superb professional resources within the local area including:

Kent County Cricket Club’s Ames-Levett Centre,

Simon Langton Boy’s School Langton Lane Swimming Pool A pupil takes part in Tennis sessions on the clay courts at Polo Farm,

Canterbury Polo Farm’s Indoor Tennis Centre

Canterbury Hockey Centre

Using these venues children will have a full term of Swimming by trained, fully qualified coaches every  week and have the opportunity to be taught by dedicated and professional coaches in both Tennis and Hockey. All of the above sports provision is included in the school fee.

The annual Sports Day at Polo Farm showcases talent on the school stage and Interschool competition gives the children an opportunity to showcase sporting excellence at a county level. Many pupils are engaged in extra-curricular sports and these are actively encouraged at St Christopher's School and sporting achievements in the extra curricular domain are justly recognised and rewarded within school through assemblies.
