At St Christopher’s School we aim to make every pupils experience engaging and exciting. Every day is an opportunity for pupils to develop their confidence, curiosity and passion for learning. Encouraged by excellent teachers and specialist support staff, pupils in Key Stage 1 develop and build upon a firm foundation of life-long skills, whilst enjoying a broad and balanced curriculum which is both challenging and stimulating.
The children are enthusiastic and inspired by the opportunities on offer and delight in making and meeting challenges whilst benefiting from a safe and secure environment. Every single child is known to all in our school and their achievements and unique characteristics they bring to the school community are celebrated.
The Key Stage 1 curriculum is focused on the core subjects of Maths and English. Our curriculum is complemented by a fantastic range of topic subjects covering Art, History, Geography and Science all of which engage with the fantastic opportunities available from the historic World Heritage Site of Canterbury which is, quite literally, on our doorstep. While on-site facilities for Sport are modest we benefit from the extensive professional sports facilities locally including Canterbury County Cricket Club, Polo Farm Hockey Club and Polo Farm Indoor Tennis Centre.
Expanding on our curriculum are a plethora of extra-curricular clubs including Art Clubs, LAMDA, Zumba, Yoga, Mutli-Skills, Football, Dodgeball and an extensive music and drama programme featuring Drums, Guitar, Voice, Violin and Piano.
